The AE1 introduced the new dedicated flash system. When a dedicted flash is fitted, turned on and fully charged, it will give information to the camera to set the proper shutter speed for flash sync as well as the proper f-stop on FD lenses.

Pros: Wide range of lenses and Canon series of attachments can be used on this body. Easy to use.
Cons: Hard to find battery.
