This full panorama format camera - there is no masking of the film to achieve a panorama effect - produces a width equivalent to the medium format, with all the inherent picture quality. The Hasselblad name ensures the superb quality throughout for this innovative new model in an expanding branch of the Hasselblad system.
The camera body is robustly built from aluminum and titanium for professional level use and is partly clad in synthetic rubber for an ergonomic grip. Weighing only around 950 g with the 45 mm lens and being the size of a 35mm camera, it sits comfortably in the hand. The host of automatic features also reinforces the 35mm feel of handling though the manual override ensures professional demands for 100% control.
Viewing and focusing are by way of bright-frame viewfinder and coupled rangefinder. Viewfinder information is adjusted automatically according to the focal length of lens as well as an automatic parallax adjustment for close shots. No accessories or manual adjustments are necessary, so changing lenses is rapid and trouble-free.
Three lenses are available - the Hasselblad F5.6/30 mm Asph, the Hasselblad F4/45 mm and the Hasselblad F4/90mm Super EBC. All have been specifically formulated for this new development and have been designed to the latest in lens construction and technology. The lenses are designed with the covering power of medium format lenses - the panorama format exceeds the width of 6x6 cm - and they are remarkably light and compact for such demands.
