Quantum Battery 1 (QB1) (6v) and Battery 1+ (QB1+) (6v:)
The QB1 was introduced in 1983. The QB1+ came out in the early 1990's and is a slightly smaller version of the QB1 with: no on/off switch (unplugging the power module cord turns off the unit and it can not be accidentally turned back on), a more precise flash capacity readout (4 LED's for 25, 50, 75 and 100% remaining capacity levels, the original QB1 has a 3 light indicator display showing 1/3, 2/3 and full power levels) and a new charging circuit which charges the QB1+ faster (3-10 hours). The QB1+ is compatible will all QB1 locking power module cords. Both batteries feature: 250 full power flashes (with GN 110 flash unit), hundreds more using automatic or TTL flash modes.
Recycle time: 3.5 - 6 seconds, depending on flash.
Both weight 26 oz.
Dimensions for the QB1: 4x4.25x1.75 inches
Dimensions for the QB1+: 3.75x4.25x1.75 inches
Both have belt clip on battery case. Both require proper module for flash being used.
Twin output jacks allow use of two flash units.
One red LED signals when internal automatic circuit breaker has been thrown to protect against flash overload. When the charger is connected an LED comes on and when the battery is fully charged the LED goes out.
