KEH Stories : Kendall Lynn

Here’s your insiders look into KEH Camera and the KEH team. Check out #KEHSpotlight each month where we’ll showcase team members. This month we interviewed our eBay Merchandiser, Kendall Lynn.

Hey Kendall! Thanks for agreeing to share your background with our customers. To begin, please tell us a little about yourself.

Ever since I got my first camera at the age of 10 from my best friend’s parents for Christmas, it captured my heart! It was just one of those cheap little 35mm film cameras from CVS, but I loved it. Three years later I spotted a Kodak digital camera in a store. I just wanted to take pictures of everything. It’s as if I had become entranced by the magic of photography. Also, me and my two older brothers were home-schooled. And I graduated high school at 15.

How long have you been a KEH employee? What is your role(s) here at KEH and what does it entail?

I have been working with KEH for a little over 4 years. I got the call to come in on Monday on the Friday right before my 21st birthday. I was super excited!

My role is currently eBay Merchandising. This means I spend my time searching for ways to improve the quality and quantity of items that we have listed on the eBay platform.

What is your favorite thing about your role here? How does your role support our vision/mission?

Every day I get the opportunity to learn something new. The opportunity to learn something about cameras or photography equipment, how to price items, how well particular items sell, or something about people. There is always room to grow and learn.

We as a company have a need to grow and optimize the way we do things. I actively seek ways to improve the quality and diversity of the items we have listed on the eBay platform and perhaps other platforms in the future.

What excites you most about working at KEH?

The people! Ever since I started here everyone has been friendly. This company feels like one big family. We even on occasion get to share a meal. I have never felt so at home while at work before working here. I think that is a beautiful thing!

Are you a photographer? What cameras do you currently own and which are you currently coveting?

I wouldn’t call myself a photographer  at least not around all these professionals. I’m more of a hobbyist. I like taking photos, but I do it to capture moments in time. Precious memories! I like to keep things simple, so I typically stick with my Kodak or Sony point & shoot cameras. I have my heart set on a Canon 20Da. I like gazing at the night sky and would love to be able to capture images of that myself.

Here’s a fun question, if you could BE any camera what would you be and why?

I think I would be either a Polaroid Instax Mini or a Rolleiflex Mini Digital TLR. I have always been fascinated with instant cameras since I was 5. They were just so cool! The Mini Digital TLR is unique, cute and modernized.

Do you have other special talents or hobbies?

I used to practice martial arts and would love to get back into it. I enjoy letting my creative side out with photography and baking.
