The Leica 60mm UV/IR 'Black' filter eliminates the pink, purple, and red tint that is the result of certain black synthetic items present when shooting in certain light conditions (ex. incandescent lighting). The UV/IR filter was developed specifically for Leica M8 to maintain ultimate optical clarity. The filter also serves as a lens protector from dust, moisture, and fingerprints.
