Wimberley AP-553 Adapter Plate is designed to replace and convert the tripod collar foot and to Arca-style clamp capabilities without the need of additional quick release plates. The plate lowers the overall height of the lens by 2" for 500mm f/4 lens and 1.25" for 200-400mm f/4 lens. Critical mass is reduced and the profile of the lens is lowered, thus allowing use of the Wimberley sidekick.
The AP-533 features double-dovetail cross-section for attachment of the shape shifter flash bracket system. The dual safety stops to prohibit the lens from accidentally slipping out of the quick release adapter. The plate is compatible with all common flash brackets.
**AP-533 mounts closely to the lens, thus preventing the plate to be used as a handle.
