The Nikon Accessory Shoe is designed for Nikomat cameras. The accessory shoe is mounted around the eyepiece and held in place by an eyepiece ring. The accessory shoe enables a camera without a hot shoe to mount an electronic flash with a PC cord or a shoe mount flash that uses flashbulbs with a PC cord to the Nikomat body.
