This FD 50mm F/1.2 lens is truly remarkable in that it is hardly any larger than a 50mm F/1.4 lens, although it transmits 50% more light at maximum aperture. Traditionally, F/1.2 lenses were limited to 55mm focal lengths, however optical design changes have made it possible to make the wider, 50mm focal length available with an F/1.2 maximum aperture while maintaining reasonable size and weight.
