The Carl Zeiss Mutar 2x teleconverter is mounted between the lens and the camera using a bayonet mount. The teleconverter doubles the focal length of the lens and minimizes the relative aperture setting on the lens by two f-stops; therefore, quadrupling the exposure time. With this converter focusing is virtually unaffected and the focal scale can be set to infinity.
