Paul C. Buff Alien Bees B1600 Monolight, Mello Yello
The Paul C. Buff Alien Bees B1600 Moonlight is a compact, powerful, and versatile self contained studio light designed to fill the needs of portrait and studio photographers.
Made with care in the USA by Nashville's Paul C. Buff Inc. Alien Bees strobes house well engineered quality components in a tough but lightweight Lexan polycarbonate housing which travels well. The B1600 strobe unit offers a good amount of power : 640 Ws True (Watt Seconds) outputting 28,000 Ls (Lumenseconds) when needed and is continuously adjustable over a 6 stop range all the way down to 1/32 full power when you don't. The modeling lamp shows where shadows will be with good accuracy. Modeling light brightness can be set independently to full power, off, or to proportionally track the variable output set for the flash. The modeling lamp can also be set to turn off until the flash power has recycled after a shot (2 seconds at full power, less at lower settings). Accessories mount easily via a standard stand mount (up to 5/8" diameter), umbrella mount (up to 3/8" diameter), and a quick attach reflector mechanism. Triggering set up is easy with a low voltage 1/8" sync cord socket, built in optical slave flash sensor, or RJ-11 remote socket (for Paul C Bull remote controls).
