Upper mid-range in the EOS system, similar to previous EOS 10S. New features include the Advanced Whisper Drive film transport system and a new wide zone focusing system which links 5 automatic or manually selected focus points with the metering patterns for more accurate exposure calculation. Auto focus, AF lock. Manual metering, Aperture priority and shutter priority AE, program AE modes include: DOF AE, X-mode for studio flash, Intelligent Program, Program Shift, Green Zone full auto mode, and 16 custom functions. TTL and A-TTL flash AE modes. Programmed Image Control (PIC) modes: portrait, landscape, close-up and sports. Metering patterns: 16 zone evaluative, center weighted averaging, 3.5% spot. Exposure compensation, auto exposure bracketing, AE lock. Built-in pop-up auto-zoom flash: GN 43-56, with 28-80mm lens coverage and red eye reduction. Shutter speed range: 30 sec to 1/8000 plus B (1/2 step manual settings possible), flash sync at 1/200, self timer. Auto DX ISO range 25-5000 with manual override (manual ISO range 6-6400).
