The Contax Carl Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon T* MM is an ultra-bright manual focus prime lens designed for the Contax/Yashica mount system. It's an excellent lens for everything from landscape and street photography.

The Contax 35mm offers a high-speed f/1.4 aperture allowing for bright viewing, even when shooting in dim light.  The solid, all-metal design, including the focus ring (rubber coated), aperture ring, mounts, and threads provides you with the no-compromise high-end craftsmanship you expect from a top of the line lens.  The smooth manual focus gives you the maximum control of your image while still supporting the exposure programs of your camera, including focus verification.

Legendary Zeiss T* coating delivers superb contrast and precise color delivery expected by today's professionals.  With near-zero geometric distortion, the Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/1.4 design gives you crisp edge to edge sharpness; especially stopped down to f/2.8 and beyond.  The design includes a single aspherical element and a single floating element to correct for lens aberrations when focused up close.  Wide open, you can expect a lens perfect for dreamy environmental portraits with unmatched bokeh.

This lens is a later 'MM' that replaced the original "AE" 35mm f/1.4 Distagon T*.  The 'MM' model has revised aperture mechanicals that allow autoexposure on Contax camera bodies with shutter priority or program exposure modes.
