The Fujifilm X-E1 is a fast and lightweight mirrorless camera featuring an X-Trans CMOS & EXR Processor Pro, and is loaded with features, making it a perfect camera for street and travel photography.  The X-E1 combines the 16 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS Sensor pioneered in the highly acclaimed Fujifilm X-Pro1, with a more compact body, and a new premium OLED electronic viewfinder.

Designed with the X-Trans CMOS sensor, the Fujifilm X-E1 eliminates the need for an optical low-pass filter (OLPF) so definition is improved.  The X-Trans Sensor color filter array uses a more random pattern than the Bayer Pattern arrays on conventional sensors; this results in pleasing images with more film like noise characteristics.

The 2,360K-dot Organic EL Panel electronic viewfinder is constructed of two glass lenses and a double aspherical lens and provides a comfortable and "Natural Look" distortion-free view of the entire scene with a horizontal apparent field of view of 25°.  The rich color expression of OLED technology and high contrast ratio of 1:5000 reflect exposure, white balance and film simulation settings with high fidelity, letting you confirm changes in real time.

The Fujifilm X-E1 utilizes a TTL contrast AF, AF assist illuminator system. This AF system automatically chooses the correct AF system based on the current scene lighting, allowing you to bring your subject into sharp focus even in low-contrast environments.  The large APS-C sensor eliminates the optical low-pass filter and uses high ISO sensitivity to eliminate blur caused by camera shake or subject motion.  The sensor also takes advantage of high contrast scenes to reproduces the natural tonality in both highlights and shadow.

Explore the nuances of color by choosing from the X-E1's built in film simulations to reproduce the color and tonal qualities of acclaimed film brands like: Velvia, PRO Neg.Std, PRO Neg.Hi, PROVIA, ASTIA, or tonal reproductions like MONOCHROME (+Ye/R/G FILTER) & SEPIA.

Employing a classic design with a nod to the film age, the Fujifilm X-E1 features an analog interface with dials for aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation and is equipped with a viewfinder that allows you to select your composition.  The camera was built tough, with a magnesium die-cast top and front cover.
