This 150 mm short telephoto Sonnar lens is suited for documentary, editorial, fashion and portrait photography. The Sonnar FE 2.8/150 mm lens is a fast high-performance lens with a medium focal length for use with the 200-series cameras from Hasselblad. This type of lens is ideally suited for a focal length range which is twice or three times as long as the diagonal of the film format used. Zeiss was the first to come up with lenses of this type and has given priority to their further development. Full utilisation of the correction potential of this lens type resulted in superb image quality and high speed in the Sonnar FE 2.8/150 mm lens. The design of the lens is extremely compact. At the infinity setting, the distance between the front lens vertex and the film plane is only as long as the focal length. This lens will not work on 500C series cameras since it has no shutter.
