Introduced in 1957 by Victor Hasselblad AB, the Hasselblad 500C represents the extreme high quality and functional system of the Hasselblad system. The 500C is fully mechanical, manual 6x6cm SLR that is lightweight, compact, user-friendly, and meets the demands of studio and outdoor photography. The 500C film can be exchanged mid roll via separate backs and syncs at all speeds. Like many of Hasselblad medium format SLR, the 500C offers interchangeable film magazines, film winding knobs, viewfinders used with ground glass screen, Carl Zeiss lenses and associated equipment.
Fun fact: Purchased by astronaut Walter M. Schirra Hasselblad 500C was the first Hasselblad camera to be used by NASA in space.
