The Sekonic L-308S Flashmate is a compact digital incident and reflected light meter.  It's an invaluable tool that allows a photographer to quickly measure and set exposure values with consistent accuracy in a variety of challenging situation.  There are many situations where conventional in-camera meters are inherently disadvantaged and the L-308s will save the day; it's an ideal choice for working with multiple light sources, strobes, reflective objects, non-reflective objects, and even cinematography.

The durable Sekonic L-308s Flashmate is light-weight and one of the most pocketable meters ever so it's always handy.  The meter accurately reads proper exposure settings in full, half, and third-stop increments to align with the standard settings found on today's cameras.  When used in full stop mode, exposure measurements are displayed in more granular tenth-stop increments.  These measurements are repeatedly accurate to within +/- 0.1 EV.

Exposure values are easily read on the large LCD screen and can be adjusted to meter ambient or flash lighting.  The meter can handle shutter speeds from 60 seconds to 1/8000th of a second and apertures from f/stops of f/1.4 to f/90.9.

Incident readings are captured by sliding the included Lumisphere into place over the silicon diode sensor or by attaching a Lumidisc for flat metering (artwork, papers, and so forth).  Reflected light measurements can captured at a 40° angle (slightly wider than a normal lens).

For electronic flash exposures, metering can be done from 1 to 1/500th of a second and can be measured cordlessly or wired with or without a PC cord.  For cinema measurements, frame rates can be set from 8 to 128 frames per second.  ISO sensitivity can be set from 3 to 8000 in third-stop increments.
