The 35-70mm f/3.5 Macro AI-S was the popular Nikon upgrade in 1981 offering the most widely used focal lengths from 50mm normal to 70mm moderate telephoto. This wide-angle zoom lens employs ten elements in nine groups optical construction delivering sharp images with virtually no distortion. The NIC assist in minimizing ghosting and flare while ensuring better contrast and color rendition. Its 62° angle of view providing a close to normal perspective. It has built-in Macro focus capabilities providing 1:4 reproduction ratio at 70mm setting. The lens also couples fully to both the full-aperture metering systems and automatic diaphragm mechanisms of all Nikon and Nikkormat cameras.
