The Coolpix P100 features 10 megapixel with 1/2.3" CMOS sensor with backside-illumination technology, high sensitive ISO expanding to 3,200, Full HD 1080p video with stereo sound, 3D shooting, ten frames per second continuous shooting, and 26x Nikkor ED lens with 5-way vibration reduction.

The Coolpix P100 also employs the Smart Portrait System with: In-camera Red-eye fix; Blink Warning to detect when your subject blinks; Smile Timer to detect when your subject smiles; and Active D-Lighting to adjust lighting exposures without affecting correctly exposed areas of your photo. Coolpix P100 has addition creative filter  to help achieve impressive photos.
