Introduced February 2011 as the Coolpix P100 replacement the Nikon Coolpix P500 is a high-end compact camera. It has 12.1 megapixels with CMOS sensor and Nikkor 36x optical zoom lens. The zoom can be adjusted around the shutter button and the button on the side of the lens. Coolpix has Lens-shift VR image stabilization that serves as a tool in achieving continuous sharp images. The Coolpix P500 has Full HD video with stereo sound, flip out screen, and full manual controls.
