It has a focal length of 40mm, minimum focusing distance of 0.53', and can achieve a high reproduction ratio up to 1:1. Nikon includes the Silent Wave Motor, full manual focus override, focus limiter, and super integrated coating. With the focus limiter focusing is limited .2cm to infinity in low light conditions where focus hurting may occur. A mid-speed prime lens with the ability of swift switching between autofocus and manual focus. The Nikon 40mm F/2.8 lens is a great lens for individuals entering into photography.
