The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM 'Art' (Sigma part# 210-205) is an ultra bright standard zoom lens for Sony A Mount digital cameras with APS-C format sensors.
Truly a revolutionary product, the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 DC HSM is the first wide-angle to standard zoom lens to achieve a large aperture of f/1.8. It's designed specifically for DX format sensors. On Sony APS format the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 is equivalent to what a 27mm-52.5mm lens would produce on on a 35mm frame camera. The 18-35mm's wide to normal field of view makes it a perfect general purpose standard lens ideal for anything including distant landscapes, casual snap shots, or even close-ups. The ultra bright f/1.8 maximum aperture stays constant through the entire zoom range; it makes the lens much easier to see through than other zooms while also offering incredible flexibility to shoot in dim available lighting or blur backgrounds.

Tapping into Sigma's long history of lens innovations, the the 18-35mm 1.8 DC HSM's 17 element 12 group optical design uses five SLD elements and four Aspherical elements to compensate for aberrations and curvature. The 9 blade diaphragm is also rounded for beautiful background blur.
Focusing is driven by a HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) which ensures smooth, fast and accurate autofocusing. Focusing and zooming movements are internal for more usability and functionality and the use of Thermally Composite Material (TSC) reduces size and weight while increasing durability. As a Global Vision design it's also compatibile with the Sigma USB dock for further customization.
