The Sony Alpha 77 is a 24.3 megapixel DSLR camera featuring Sony's top-of-the-line 2nd generation Translucent Mirror Technology; it's a very featured rich camera ready for everything: sports & action, travel, documenting everyday life, and pretty much anything you can imagine.

The lightweight weather resistant magnesium alloy body was engineered to be a tough camera for use under any condition to meet your active lifestyle demands.  All ports, doors and controls are weather-resistant for worry-free shooting, come rain or shine.

The combination of Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology and the 24.3-megapixel CMOS sensor's 5,600 column-parallel A/D converters allow you to shoot at up to 12fps continuously.   The ISO range of ISO 100-12,800 (expandable to ISO 50-16,000) allows low noise and ultimate low-light and high-speed performance.  The Sony Alpha 77 has SteadyShot inside stabilization which reduces blur by compensating for camera shake.  The built-in SteadyShot Inside image stabilization works with all A Mount lenses (including macro and wide-aperture standard zoom) to reduce camera shake blur with every, this allows shooting in lower light without sacrificing image quality.

The Translucent Mirror Technology allows use of a highly responsive Phase Detection Autofocus system to operate continuously without viewfinder interruption.  19 sensors with 11 cross sensors maximize precision for both vertical and horizontal subjects.  This autofocus system works no matter what mode you're using, even HD Movie and Live View.  The system also utilizes Object Tracking AF which locks onto a specified object and maintains focus even as the subject moves.  The Sony Alpha 77 allows you to switch the focus modes between Single-servo AF (S), Continuous-Servo AF (C), Manual Focus (M).

Take advantage of LiveView with a 2.36M dot ultra-high resolution Tru-Finder OLED electronic viewfinder or the 3.0" 921.6k dot Xtra Fine LCD monitor with three-way tilt/swivel.  The screen boasts TruBlack technology which includes a special resin layer to suppress internal reflections, increasing contrast compared to conventional LCDs.  Use the Sunny Weather mode to boost visibility even further.  The Alpha 77 provides you with a "what you see is what you get" preview of white balance, focus, depth of field, exposure and 100% framing accuracy, plus informative on-screen displays.

Let your creative side free with the 11 built-in Picture Effect modes.  These include Posterization (Color, B/W), Pop Color, Retro Photo, Partial Color (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow), Soft High-key, High Contrast Monochrome, Toy Camera, Soft Focus, HDR Painting, Rich-tone Monochrome, and Miniature.

The Sony Alpha 77 was the world's first DSLR to offer a choice of super-smooth 60p, standard 60i or richly cinematic 24p movie modes all at Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, you can capture incredible, high quality AVCHD or MP4 videos of all your memorable moments (records in 29-minute segments).
