Description
Intended to compete with the Zeiss Contax-mount 28 f8 Tessar, the 28 f6.3 Hektor was not only faster than its rival, but also could be coupled to a rangefinder which the Tessar could not. This extremely compact lens was produced from 1935 until 1952 during which time approximately 9700 were made. Those, such as our example, having a chrome finish first became available in 1936 and replaced the earlier nickel-finish model.
