The Nikon D5000 was the first DSLR with articulating LCD. The LCD swivels from the bottom allowing the flexibility to compose and capture images from all angles of the camera. Nikon D5000 is a five-star shooter that will satisfy even the most demanding photographer. It has 12.3 megapixels CMOS sensor with EXPEED image processor, four frames per second continuous shooting, expandable low noise ISO Sensitivity up to 6400, and full HD video with stereo sound. The Nikon D5000 photographs beautifully under any lighting conditions and captures 720p24 high definition videos. Other features include GPS/mapping, Active D-Lighting, Nikon 3D Color Matrix Metering II, and Picture Control Settings.
This particular D5000 employs infrared conversion. Infrared conversion enables the photographer to shoot stunning infrared images hand held at low ISO speeds and without the need for infrared filters. Having the infrared filter in front of your lens makes it easier to change lenses, compose, and focus.
