The D70 is equipped with a Nikon DX Format 6.1 effective megapixel CCD sensor. It captures images with high resolution and amazingly sharp detail. A state-of-the-art LSI chip programmed with next-generation algorithms functions at the heart of the camera, handling digital image processing while optimizing image quality and system performance. It also controls auto white balance, auto tone, color control, and real-time processes to diminish digital noise in long exposure shots.
