Olympus TCON-17: 1.7x reach extension for C-Series shooters.
The TCON-17 gives Olympus C-Series camera owners a straightforward way to extend their telephoto reach by 1.7x without swapping systems. It's designed specifically for the C-Series lineup, so the fit and optical coordination are built around those cameras than adapted from a generic solution.
For photographers who've hit the limit of their C-Series zoom and want more working distance for wildlife, sports from the sidelines, or subjects that don't tolerate close approaches, that 1.7x multiplier adds meaningful reach. The TCON-17 is the kind of accessory that earns its place in a bag by solving a specific problem cleanly. If your shooting regularly pushes against the long end of your C-Series lens, this converter is the direct answer.
Who It's For
Wildlife photographers using C-Series cameras who need more distance between themselves and their subjects will get direct use from the 1.7x magnification. Sports and event shooters working from fixed positions benefit from the added reach when physical movement isn't an option. Travel photographers who want extended telephoto capability without carrying additional camera bodies or lens systems will find the TCON-17 fits that role within the C-Series ecosystem.
Key Features
- 1.7x magnification for C-Series digital cameras

FAQ
- What cameras does the TCON-17 work with?
- The TCON-17 is designed for Olympus C-Series digital cameras. Verify compatibility with your specific model before purchasing.
- How much focal length does the 1.7x magnification add?
- The 1.7x multiplier extends the effective focal length of your C-Series lens by that factor. A 100mm lens becomes 170mm equivalent; a 150mm becomes 255mm equivalent.
- Is the TCON-17 permanently attached or removable?
- It's a conversion lens that attaches to your C-Series camera. You can remove it when you don't need the extra reach.
- What's the practical use case for a 1.7x converter?
- Wildlife, sports, and any subject work where you need more working distance than your native zoom provides. It's an alternative to buying a longer lens or upgrading your entire system.
- Will using the TCON-17 affect my camera's autofocus or metering?
- The verified specifications for the TCON-17 do not include details about autofocus or metering functionality. Consult your camera manual or Olympus support for your specific model.
- Can I use the TCON-17 with non-C-Series Olympus cameras?
- The TCON-17 is designed for the C-Series lineup. Compatibility outside that range is not specified in the available documentation.
