The Sony FE 85mm F1.4 GM (Sony part # SEL85F14GM) is an ultra-fast top-of-the-line professional short-telephoto portrait lens for Sony E-Mount cameras. The SEL85F14GM is a part of Sony's ultra premium G Master line of lenses. G Master optics are made to tremendously high quality standards in order to get the most out of advanced camera image sensors.

Because today's ultra high resolution chips just keep getting better, G Master lens designs push the sharpness envelope. While chasing a 50lines per mm baseline, advanced computer optical simulations and extremely tight surface tolerances are used to manifest another primary goal: the very best bokeh. Generous use of special glasses and state of the art nano-structure coating are also used to deliver deep color and tremendous contrast while minimizing glare and chromatic aberation.

In addition to being ultra sharp, the SEL85F14GM's beautifully rendered bokeh benefits from an ultra-fast f/1.4 maximum aperture and a unique 11 bladed circular aperture diaphragm. The super bright f/stops are perfect for shooting in flattering available light and allow very shallow depth of field. The SEL85F14GM also features it's own built-in aperture ring right where you want it, complete with a dedicated switch for de-clicking the stops on demand. The lens exterior sports a focus mode switch and a super convenient focus lock button. Auto focussing is commensurately fast and accurate thanks to the internal focus RDSSM (Ring Drive Super Sonic wave Motor) with two position sensors for maximum speed and precision. In fact, every component and every facet of the FE 85mm f/1.4 G Master was made with maximum precision for one purpose: making the finest images, pictures that defy expectations, that's what the 85mm G Master does best.
