With built-in optical image stabilization, the fast f/2.8 full-frame 90mm lens utilizes internal gyro sensors to eliminate the most minute of vibrations, resulting in clear hand-held images at up to 1:1 magnification, even in dim light.  The aspherical lens design and Nano AR coating reduce spherical aberration while keeping the lens size and weight to a minimum.  The 9-blade circular aperture produces a creamy circular bokeh that G Lenses are celebrated for.

The Sony 90mm features quiet internal focusing, so only the middle groups of the lens move without changing the overall length of the lens.  With a sliding focus ring, quickly swap from manual focus to autofocus without taking your eye off your subject and use the on-barrel focus hold to keep the lens locked at your focal distance; especially handy when doing macro work.  A focus range limiter switch is also provided, with settings for 0.5m-0.28m, ∞-0.5m or the full range.  By shortening the focus range auto focus hunting time can be reduced so you get faster autofocus.
