The Sony Alpha A7R II is a high-quality, high resolution and high-speed professional full-frame camera.

The weather sealed magnesium alloy body was engineered to be the toughest camera for use under any condition.  Sony redesigned the lens mount to provide superior strength and stability when mounting longer lenses.  The new shutter design reduces mechanical vibrations by 50% and now offers a silent shooting mode.

The 42.4-megapixel back-illuminated 35mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor is powered by the BIONZ X image processing engine to support 14-bit uncompressed RAW images.  Getting an ISO range of ISO 100-25,600 which is expandable to ISO 50-102,400 provides the ultimate low-light and high-speed performance available today.

The Sony Alpha A7R II has 5-Axis Image Stabilization which has been maximized for the 42 MP sensor.  This system corrects camera shake while shooting along the 5 axes of angular shake (pitch & yaw), shift shake (along the x/y axis), and rotational shake (roll).  Pair this with a stabilized lens and you can freehand some incredible ultra-lowlight photography.

The Fast Hybrid auto-focus system offers up 25 contrast detection points and 399 phase detection points covering about half the sensor.  The modes available here are Single, Continuous and Manual focus as well as AF-A and DMF modes that can be used with the native FE glass.  The A7R II allows you to switch the focus areas between Wide Area, Zone Area, Center Area, Flexible Spot, Expand Flexible Spot, Lock-on AF Expand Flexible Spot, Lock-on AF, Eye AF, and Face Detection.

The Sony Alpha A7R II has been optimized for recording 4K video resulting in sharper footage with incredible detail.  The back-illuminated sensor is the first to allow 35mm full-frame recording in 4K resolution with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.  With full-frame or Super 35 mm formats, record in 4K or Full HD resolution up to 60 fps.  Record HD at 120 fps and the XAVC S format at 100 Mbps.
