The Sony Alpha a7S II (Sony part# ILCE7SM2/B) is a Full Frame 35mm format mirrorless digital camera optimized with videography and high ISO shooting in mind. Rather than chasing increased still resolution the A7SII favors an approach that balances a useful megapixel count with larger pixels for cleaner results. The 12 megapixel sensor produces amazingly good results at shockingly high ISO settings while shooting 4K video or still images with plenty of detail (especially for digital viewing).
The Steady Shot Inside sensor based optical image stabilization system counteracts left-right shifting, yawing and rolling motions as well as up-down shifting and pitching motions for shake reduction up to an equivalent of 4.5 stops of shutter speed.
For better looking video the a7S II sensor uses full pixel readout without binning produces so your 4K movies have less moire and aliasing artifacts. 100Mbps XAVC S format shooting reduces compression for cleaner images too. 4k recording is possible both internally and via the clean HDMI output. Color profiles include S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3 and S-Gamut3/S-Log3. Excellent screens, customizable Enhanced Zebra Function, and Gamma Display Assist function are just some of the viewing amenities.
