Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 III Digital Camera {20.1 M/P} Description

Exquisite image quality and high-end handling available in a truly compact camera.  The Sony Cyber-shot RX100III features a relatively massive 1" sensor and a high quality large-aperture lens.  f/1.8-2.8 wide angle zoom lens.  The RX100III's lens is superior to most compact camera optics; the Carl Zeiss 2.9x optical zoom is equivalent to 24-70mm lens (35mm format equivalent) and features an f/1.8-2.8 maximum aperture as well as renowned T* anti-reflective multi-coating.  An integrated control ring surrounds the lens for intuitive access to settings.  Combined with superior ISO sensitivity (thanks to a BSI-CMOS sensor and advanced image processing), you'll enjoy richly-detailed results with remarkably low noise even in challenging lighting conditions.  Whether you're a pro looking for a premium compact camera, or simply want to take your point and shoot photography to the next level, the RX100III offers excellent quality and operation intuitive to SLR users in a sophisticated, pocket-friendly package you'll want to take everywhere.

Introduced in 2014 following the success of the the Cyber-shot RX100II, the RX100III (sometimes referred to as the DSC-RX100M3) offers a wider and brighter lens, and new viewing options.  The tilting LCD screen now folds fully 180° upwards to face forward making framing easy for selfies, vlogging, and group pictures.  A space saving pop-up OLED electronic viewfinder is now built-in, perfect for bright sunny days and shooting with traditional 3 points of contact camera holding stances.  The Cybershot RX100III also features enhance video capabilities including direct pixel readout 50 Mbps XAVC S & clean HDMI output as well as simultaneous MP4 capture while also recording in either AVCHD or XAVC S format

In 2015 Sony released a follow-up model the Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV with a newer 20MP sensor, 4K video capability, increased finder resolution, and faster frame rates; due to continued demand the RX100III was not discontinued and both models remain popular.
