Paul C. Buff Alien Bees B800 Monolight, Deep Space Black
The Paul C. Buff Alien Bees B800 Monolight is a light-weight and self-contained flash unit designed for use in the studio or on the road.
The flash unit has a stepless slide fader allowing you to select your output from full power (320-Wattseconds) down to 1/32 power (10-Wattseconds). The fader has indicated whole-stop increments, though you can choose any power in-between stops as well. For accurate output, the unit will dump the excess power when selecting lower power values.
The WYSIWYG "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" 150-watt modeling lamp provides an accurate lighting pattern and allows you to select on/off with the option of tracking (brightness proportional to flash power changes) or full brightness. The modeling light can also be set to function as a recycling indicator. The unit recycles in 1 second at full power, thanks to the internal cooling fans.
The Paul C. Buff Alien Bees B800 Monolight features multiple triggering options: sync cords via the standard 1/8-inch (3.5mm) jack, Dedicated Paul C. Buff remotes such as the LG4X via the RJ11 jack, or use the built-in optical flash sensor to slave the strobe to other flashes. The monolight is powered by a 15-foot power cord to connect to standard outlets.
This heavy-duty light comes housed in high-impact Lexan polycarbonate to provide a light-weight, yet highly durable flash unit, ready for studio or travel.
