The Contax 28mm f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Biogon T* is a highly corrected autofocus rangefinder lens for the Contax G1 and G2 cameras.  When mounting the Contax 28mm G users immediately notice most of the lens fits inside the camera body; it's a highly corrected optical design that is externally compact.

Unburdened by a mirrorbox and flange focal distance constraints this 7 element 5 group Zeiss Biogon T* multi-coated design is almost perfectly corrected for distortion.  Sharpness, contrast, color reproduction and bokeh are all superb by any standard.

The bright f/2.8 maximum aperture aids shooting in available light and with beautiful titanium metal construction keeping weight to a remarkable 150g (5.3oz) the lens is incredibly easy to hand hold and carry.

**Note: for G mount lenses: when removing or mounting the lens to the camera, do NOT turn the black piece closest to the camera body.  Turn the middle ring on the lens instead.  Turning the black piece closest to the body forcibly can cause damage to body and lens AF contacts.
