Description

The Olympus 17mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko is a fast moderately wide-angle lens designed for Micro Four Thirds digital cameras. This 17mm (35mm equivalent of 34mm) lens is part of the Olympus M.Zuiko line, offering exceptional build and optics. Weighing in at just 4.23oz this metallic lens with a large front element and a maximum f/1.8 aperture is perfect for sharp landscape and street work, low light photography and more.

The two-position snap focus ring allows switching from autofocus to classic manual focus with a quick twist, giving you full creative control of your scene. Also, with the snapshot mechanism, useful for street photography, distance and depth of field indicators that allow users to focus without looking at the camera screen are quickly displayed.

To reduce lens aberrations and color fringing, the lens has been designed with two extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses and a high refractivity (HR) lens. The nine lens elements all incorporate Olympus's Zuiko Extra-Low Reflective Optical (ZERO) coating, adapted from the Olympus industry-leading line of precision microscopes, for virtual elimination of ghosts and flares.

The quiet Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) lens drive system delivers superior auto-focus and ensures fast and virtually silent performance; particularly important for the videographer shooting HD movies.
